​Baptism is a meaningful and important step in a person’s spiritual journey. It is a public declaration of your faith in Jesus Christ and an outward expression of your decision to follow Him.

 

When you choose to be baptized, you are following the example of Jesus and responding in obedience to His command.

 

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”
— Matthew 28:19

Death. Burial. Resurrection. New Life.

 

Baptism represents our identification with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. Going beneath the water represents the old life being buried, and coming out of the water represents the new life we have through Christ.

 

“We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.”
— Romans 6:4

Baptism also symbolizes cleansing and renewal and publicly identifies you as a follower of Jesus.

 

“And now why do you wait? Rise and be baptized and wash away your sins, calling on his name.”
— Acts 22:16
